“And I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken it. And I will make with them a covenant of peace.” May God bless our souls with peace from Heaven and permit us understand “THE MYSTERY OF PEACE.” To have more information about this Peace Covenant we go to the Scriptures. Peace is a gift from God. Peace is what the human being desires the most. Everybody desires peace and every nation desires peace, because it does not matter how much wealth a person or a nation may have; if they do not have peace their wealth does not benefit them. We saw that peace is within a divine covenant, God is the God of peace, and therefore, peace as a divine gift comes from Heaven, from God. For the human being to obtain peace he must be reconciled with God, and consequently the human being needs to know all the mystery of the process for the peace that the human being yearns so much for. For individuals, for nations and for mankind it is very important to know the mystery of peace, so we can obtain the peace and everybody be happy. There is a spiritual peace for the persons and there is a peace for the nations, and all this is within a covenant of peace, which we read in the passage of Ezekiel chapter 34, verses 24 to 37. And also in chapter 37, verse 26 (of Ezekiel) says: “Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.” Here, speaking to Israel, it says that He, the everlasting, the Mighty God will establish a Covenant of Peace with Israel. Israel was established as a free and sovereign nation since 1948. Israel has prospered in the science field, in the agriculture field, Israel has prospered in all the fields; it has prospered significantly in the economic field but does not have peace and desires peace, and knows that peace will only come through the Prince Messiah, whom they are waiting for. According to Isaiah, chapter 9 verse 6 to 7, there will be a Prince who will bring peace for Israel and that is why He is called the “Prince of Peace.” It says: “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.” Here we have the promise of this child, of the Prince Messiah, who is called Counseller, The Mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace; this is the Prince Messiah promised for the Hebrew people, who will establish His Kingdom on this Earth, and will bring the peace Israel has longed for and is awaiting. Israel knows that in no other way will the peace, the everlasting peace will come for them, but we strive for peace although it is temporary, while the Peace from Heaven comes through the Prince Messiah, who will establish His Kingdom on this Planet Earth. A time will come in which, through human treaties peace will be declared on Earth, but it will be a temporary peace, of which Saint Paul in I Thessalonians, chapter 5 verse 1 to 10 says that when they say peace and safety then sudden destruction will come ( in other words, a third world war). We all desire peace, all the nations desire peace. Israel desires peace, the imperishable peace which comes from Heaven, from God, and it comes within a New Covenant for Israel and for all the nations. But how can we obtain that imperishable peace before the Kingdom of the Messiah comes, that physical kingdom upon this Earth, of which Jesus Christ said when praying ask for the coming of that Kingdom? He said: “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven,” there will be peace in that Kingdom for Jerusalem, for all Israel and for all the nations in that physical kingdom that is to come. But, is there a possibility for a human being to obtain peace although the physical Kingdom of God, the Kingdom of the Messiah is not yet established here on Earth? Yes indeed, Jesus Christ said: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.” (Saint John, chapter 14, verse 27) For the human being as an individual, there is an opportunity to obtain the everlasting peace from Heaven under a New Covenant. Isaiah speaks to us of this Covenant, of which Saint Paul speaking to us explains that this New Covenant is the one established by Jesus Christ, chapter 10 of Romans, verse 8 onward says: “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!” “How beautiful are the feet of them that preach peace and bring glad tidings, good things for the human beings!” Those who preach the Gospel of Peace are bringing glad tidings of peace for the human being’s soul; they are blessed persons, their feet are blessed, because their feet are set with the Gospel of Peace, the Gospel of Grace with which the good news are given that the Prince Messiah, the King of Israel came two thousand years ago, and as a Lamb of God died in Expiation for the sin of every human being on Calvary’s Cross. Jesus’ death was not a disgrace nor a coincidence; it was the Atoning Sacrifice for the sin of every human being, which was typified or represented in the sin offering that was carried out on the tenth day of the seventh month of every year, when a male kid goat was sacrificed and his blood was taken to the most holy place by the high priest, who would sprinkle with his finger upon the mercy seat, interceding for the people. And when his duties for that day were done, he would come out and bless the people in the Name of the Lord, and he would ask peace for the people and for every person who repented from his sins, had afflicted himself on that tenth day of the seventh month of every year, which was the atoning day, the day of forgiveness. And the people was reconciled with God and obtained peace to enjoy it during that year, and obtained the blessing and right to live another year. All that is type and figure of Christ’s death on Calvary’s cross as the sin offering for the sin of the human being, wherein the human being having been repented comes to the Feet of Christ, receiving Him as only and sufficient Savior, and Christ forgives him, cleanses him from all sin with His Blood, is baptized in water in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and Christ baptizes him with Holy Spirit and Fire and produces in the person the new birth. That person is born to a new life: to everlasting life in the everlasting Kingdom of our beloved Lord Jesus Christ, wherein we find the New Covenant and also the Blood for the New Covenant, which is the Blood of our beloved Lord Jesus Christ shed on Calvary’s cross. That is why in Christ’s last supper with His disciples, in Jerusalem, says the following in Saint Matthew chapter 26 verses 26 to 29: “And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;For this is my blood of the new testament.” Now, the New Covenant has a Blood which cleanses the human being from all sin. “For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” Here we have the very own Jesus Christ saying that His Blood is the Blood of the New Covenant, which is shed for remission of sins.
